The conflict in Ukraine is affecting our ability to provide full consular services within Ukraine and surrounding countries, particularly Russia and Belarus where we advise Australians to leave immediately due to the security environment. This includes the issuing of passports and other travel documents.
In case you need to leave a location sooner than planned:
- Make sure your travel documents are up-to-date and valid.
- If you’re planning to stay in the region, ensure you have validity of more than 6 months on your passport.
- Know where your travel documents are at all times and keep them safe.
If you need a passport urgently, you can apply for an emergency passport at your nearest Australian Embassy or Consulate, With the Australian Embassy in Ukraine temporarily closed, Australians can contact the 24-hour Consular Emergency Centre on +61 2 6261 3305 for urgent assistance including the issuance of Provisional Travel Documents.
Read and subscribe to the travel advice for your destination to keep up to date on the situation.
